BILLINGS, Mont. — Thirty-four sheriffs from across Montana today endorsed
former U.S. Attorney and Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kurt Alme in
Montana’s U.S. Senate race.

“I was proud to work alongside the tremendous men and women of Montana law
enforcement for years as a federal prosecutor and U.S. Attorney, and I am
honored to earn the support of 34 sheriffs across our state to serve as
Montana’s next U.S. Senator,” said Kurt Alme. “We know what it takes to make
our communities safer, and together, we will work each day to protect Montana
families. As your Senator, I will always support our law enforcement, because
in Montana, we don’t defund the police — we back the blue.”

After being nominated by President Trump and confirmed by the U.S. Senate,
Alme twice served as Montana’s United States Attorney. Alme worked with
sheriffs across Montana, was tough on violent crime, and cracked down on drug
trafficking.

As Montana’s top federal prosecutor, Alme launched Project Safe Neighborhoods
to target meth traffickers, armed robbers, and violent felons and led the
formation of Montana’s Homeland Security Task Force to bring the fight
directly to the cartels. Under his leadership this past year, criminal
prosecutions hit a 20-year high and made our communities safer.

Earlier in his career, Kurt served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Montana,
prosecuting white-collar crime, including fraud, recovering millions for
taxpayers and other victims.

As President Donald Trump made clear in his emphatic endorsement earlier this
year, “Kurt knows the Wisdom and Courage it takes to ensure LAW AND ORDER,”
and will always “advocate for our Heroes in Law Enforcement.”
